Terms of service
This is a working draft written for an early build. It has not been reviewed by a lawyer and should be read as a statement of intent rather than a final agreement.
1. What CampusTrade is
CampusTrade is an independent platform where students advertise products, services and accommodation to each other and look for roommates. It is not endorsed by the University of Lagos or the College of Medicine. CampusTrade is not a party to any agreement you reach with another user.
2. Your account
You must give accurate information, keep your password private, and use one account. You may not impersonate another person, create an account for someone who is suspended, or attempt to grant yourself moderator or administrator rights.
3. Listings
You are responsible for what you list. Do not advertise anything illegal, stolen, counterfeit, unsafe, or any academic work intended to be submitted as someone else's — we do not facilitate academic cheating. Listings may be paused, placed under review or removed for breaching these terms, with the reason recorded.
4. Transactions and payments
CampusTrade does not process payments and does not hold funds. An accepted offer or order on the platform records an intention between two students; it is not proof that money has changed hands. Agree collection or delivery between yourselves, inspect goods before paying, and meet in public.
5. Verification and reputation
Student verification means an authorised reviewer checked a submission. It is not a background check and not an official university confirmation. Campus Cred reflects recorded platform activity only. Neither makes a user trustworthy, and neither is a guarantee of safety.
6. Accommodation
Property details are supplied by the person listing them. CampusTrade does not inspect properties and does not confirm ownership, legality or condition. Always view a property in person and verify who you are paying before transferring any money.
7. Moderation
We may suspend an account, remove content or decline a verification where these terms or the community guidelines are breached. Decisions are recorded with a reason and can be queried through the contact page.
8. Liability
CampusTrade is provided as is, without warranty. To the extent permitted by law, we are not liable for losses arising from dealings between users, from content posted by users, or from service interruptions.
9. Changes
These draft terms will change as the platform develops. Material changes will be announced in-app before they take effect.
